Artists Charles White and Gordon Parks came of age in Chicago during the city’s Black Renaissance of the 1930s and 40s. Both were deeply interested indocumenting the human condition.

In this lecture, LeRonn P. Brooks Brooks (Assistant professor in the Department of Africana Studies at Lehman College of CUNY and a curator for The Racial Imaginary Institute) explores how the artists informed one another’s practice.
