Where did the term “Imagism” come from? This program challenges its audience to look at Chicago art through a new lens: without the labels that have often placed it at the margins of the mainstream. Robert Cozzolino, Patrick and Aimee Butler Curator of Paintings at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, explores new ways to consider Chicago art in this lecture presented in conjunction with the exhibition What Came After: Figurative Painting in Chicago 1978–1998.

This event is free with museum admission.
